Books Over Beer: a Public Intervention

- The objective of my project was to evoke awareness on the importance of literacy as well as to show how the act of reading has become more of a burden than a leisure activity.

_What I did was create coasters to place at various bars around the city. On one side of the coaster was a quote from some of my favorite authors, most of which reflected American culture. The authors I chose were
- Jean Baudrillard - Sadder than destitution, sadder than a beggar is the man who eats alone in public.

- Henry Miller - The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware...

- Hunter S. Thompson - Stay naked as much as possible, but do not impose your orgiastic will on others...

These quotes among many others were randomly placed at:
- Irish Pub
- Dirty Franks
- Midtown
At the expense of one of my friends being threatened, The outcome was great
